Crowned the “smartest dog” in the book The Intelligence of Dogs (Bantam, 1995, by Stanley Coren), the beautiful and biddable Border Collie is unique even among stock breeds. Their hypnotic stare, combined with a crouching, creeping style of herding, captivates people as well as sheep. My tribute to this magnificent breed is “Harley” the Border Collie pup. Harley is created from lush black and white Schulte Mohair and sits at 10 inches. His riveting eyes are German glass; paw pads are ultra suede. Harley wears his own fashionable Harley Davidson bandana.
